Seth Jerabek (’22) has pretty sweet summer plans after landing a role in a Hershey Chocolate World production.
Jerabek, who starred in the title role of LBC | Capital’s fall production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” is an Ashland, Ohio, native and a Musical Theatre major and Communication minor. He will begin working as part of the fun Hershey production in mid-May.

Jerabek said he usually tries to find performing opportunities over the summer to build his resume and make connections.
“This summer, many people—me included—have been struggling to find gigs due to COVID-19,” he shared. “One day, I was just looking at jobs on Facebook and randomly saw an actor position listed by Hershey’s Chocolate World. Naturally, I was interested, and at the time, I was auditioning for as many things as possible and just hoping for something to stick. I researched more about the position and found out it was for the ‘Hershey’s Unwrapped’ attraction.”
According to the Hershey’s Unwrapped website, visitors to the attraction can expect to “unwrap and taste your way through the tale of Hershey’s Chocolate with a theatrical experience the whole family will enjoy! From the bean to bar and everything in between, this attraction is sure to dazzle your taste buds, fill you with laughter and sweeten you with Hershey heartwarming moments.”
Jerabek said that within a couple of days of completing the online application, Human Resources at The Hershey Company contacted him.
“They sent me two different monologues to learn, and I scheduled a day to come in and audition,” he said. “When it came time for my audition, I was so excited! I had never had the opportunity to work for such a large and well-known company in this capacity before. I did my audition for the two directors of the show, and that same day they ended up offering me the position. This is a very rare circumstance for this field and is a great testament to how the Lord cares and provides for all aspects of our lives!”
The good news came at the perfect time for the student in LBC | Capital’s Music, Worship & Performing Arts Department.
“When I came across the listing for this job, I had been experiencing rejection after rejection and was getting discouraged,” he said. “I was almost ready to give up but had some conversations with some respected people in my life, and they encouraged me to keep going. I have experienced this a lot in my life, where I will be almost at the end of my rope and God will provide an amazing opportunity.
“Hershey’s Unwrapped is a great show for all ages and I would love to see some familiar faces there!” Jerabek added. “If this article encouraged you to come, be sure to connect with me after the show!”
