Hybrid Undergraduate Degrees

Bachelors, Associates & Certificates Offered in an 8-Week Class Format

One Class, One Night a Week.

One evening a week in class might be just the right learning format for you! At LBC we recognize that the 100% online class format may not fit every student’s learning style. Some individuals prefer hybrid because they need a community to learn, or they may have a particular learning style or preference that requires interaction, and/or they need the accountability that weekly meetings and human connection give them. That is why we offer several of our 8-week Undergraduate degree programs in a hybrid class format. Our hybrid in-class options are available at our Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia locations. Let us help you determine if earning your undergraduate degree through a hybrid format is right for you.

What does hybrid look like at the Undergraduate level?

What are the benefits of hybrid learning?

  • Face to Face interaction with instructors and fellow students. You may enjoy the traditional classroom experience where you can interact directly with the professor and build a network for support and friendships with the other students.
  • Connect with diverse classmates and faculty from all walks of life who draw from different life experiences, socioeconomic statuses, religious experiences and varied generations. Instructors are not only content experts, but many actively work in the field.
  • Coming onsite can provide access to additional student support services and student-led activities. A computer lab and library resources are available onsite for student use. The Ally Center staff can provide one-on-one or in-group academic support on the day you come on site.
  • Small class size can provide a sense of comfort and confidence if you are concerned about getting back into taking classes and using educational technology.
  • There is the flexibility with the hybrid format to be able to take online classes when necessary.
  • Each site creates its own unique LBC college community experience–creating a spiritual family with whom you can learn and grow together.

The hybrid format is appealing for adult education students due to the unique opportunity to build personal relationships. Dr. Tanya Solomon, Site Director of LBC| Capital in Philadelphia says,

Tanya Soloman“The relationships that students develop with faculty, staff and other students are the secret sauce of hybrid learning sites,” Solomon said. “These relationships provide academic, spiritual and interpersonal support to students who are juggling many responsibilities as they take on the academic rigors of college. These connections also allow students a safe space to be vulnerable and to grow. Because of the relationships formed, students at our hybrid sites experience prayerful affirmation, edification and community in a way that cannot be duplicated virtually. They essentially become a part of an extended family.”
